I have a job! Well, pending my drug-test I took today. So, in a few days I will have a job. Back at the good ol' A&P in Fishkill. Good times. It should be interesting to see how well I can bablance all these essays this summer with working. It'll be so nice to have money again. Yes! Productivity, good stuff. I finished the book Fences for my class. The shortest out of the 5 books I have to read this summer for that class. It was actually pretty good. I was suprised because going into this class I had the preconceived notion that I was going to hate it because it was English, I have 5 required books to read in 5-weeks, and it's African-American literature; which eventhough I'm half black I have no desire to learn about that part of my culture. Well, at least I didn't want to learn about it but now I'm kinda curious about it. The book was kinda funny to me b/c the main character has an affair (like my father), he lies like it's his job (like my father), it's just funny because it confirms my prejudices about black men. Hence the reason I try to stay away from getting involved with black men. I'm not racist or anything, that's ridiculous but I don't want to be hurt like my mother was, so I'm very careful about that. Hell, at this point I'm pretty much skeptical of all men. As much as I love guys at times I want nothing to do with them. Because of them I cause myself so much unnecessary drama. At that note, I'm going to finish studying for Philosophy. Can't believe I have a test tomorrow already.
